Welcome to the Charitymates web site!

Charitymates is an annual charity event held at the Minimate Multiverse. During this event, Minimate customizers (veteran and novice alike) create and donate a Minimate custom based on a theme chosen by the community. These unique creations are then auctioned off on eBay with 75% of the proceeds going to a specific charity (also chosen by the community) and the remaining 25% helping with the operation costs of the Minimate Multiverse.

I am creating this web site in order to help promote this event through the entire collecting community. I think it is a wonderful concept, and I really wanted to see it grow and flourish. In the coming weeks I will post details on our previous three Charitymates events, so you can see all of the amazing customs that were donated.

Charitymates 4: A Convoy of Robots

Custom Robot Minimates limited only by your imagination will gather to support Convoy of Hope!

If you are interested in participating, head on over to the Charitymates 4 thread at MMV. I will be managing this event and creating the eBay auction. All entries must arrive by June 1st, and they will need to be characters of your own creation. Feel free to post any questions here, or in that thread. We already have 21 customizers who have pledged to make a custom, and I am hoping we can get even more participants before the deadline! Year-Round Charity Auctions

I also want to announce that even though the annual Charitymates event will be our main focus, I will be expanding this site to include year-round charity auctions. I am pledging to auction off one custom Minimate each month for charity. The characters and charities might change each time, and it might fall on a different date each month. The first auction is coming in April!

I have had an amazing time participating in the last three Charitymates event, and the experience has made me want to do even more. That is the inspiration for these monthly auctions, and I encourage other customizers to join me. You wouldn’t have to commit to anything regular, but once the big Charitymates 4 event has ended, you might get the itch to make another custom for a good cause.
